European Youth Championships and Open World Championships

This blog was created to keep friends, family, and enthusiasts updated on our trip to Sweden for the 2009 Yngling European Youth Championship Regatta and the 2009 Yngling Open World Championship Regatta. The European Youth Championship will be held July 30th through August 2nd and the World Championship is to be held July 31st through August 8th.

The first-ever American youth team to participate in the European Youth Championship is from Alpena, Michigan and will sail USA 415, Anniversary. The team is comprised of skipper, Val Upham, and crew, Julie Mitchell and Joe Jacquemin. Dr. Mark Upham, United States Yngling Association President, will coach the team; they will be training in Alpena's Thunder Bay prior to their trip.
